The prognosis for these tumors is slightly poorer than that of carcinoid, with an overall five year survival rate at 78%. However only about 14% have survived longer then 5 years.

A small number of them will die due to their illness, but most survive long enough that the outlook is very positive unless it’s a high grade 3 tumor which carries an extremely poor prognosis rating on average at 22%.
